Ahmet Gencturk is a PhD candidate at the Panteion University where he researches the relation between the Greek Church and the Ottoman State in the nineteenth century. He is also a researcher at the Centre for Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (CEMMIS) and is co-editor of the Centre's <em>Turkey Report</em>. He lives in Athens.
