Queen Elizabeth turns 92! A mini tribute in honour of our monarch’s birthday.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, the world’s oldest and longest reigning monarch is to celebrate her 92nd birthday by attending a special concert this evening.

World class singers such as Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Sting and Shaggy will be amongst those who will be providing her majesty, and the rest of the royal family with entertainment for the evening. The concert, known as “The Queen’s Birthday Party” will take place in London’s Albert Hall.

This event will be a break in tradition and a change for the Queen who usually celebrates her birthday privately will very little public celebration.

Her majesty the Queen was born on April 21, 1926, in Bruton Street, central London. She became Queen in 1952 at the young age of 25, meaning she has now reigned for over 66 years.

In honor of the longest reigning monarch turning 92 today, we would like to share some interesting facts about Elizabeth and look over some key moments in her life as Queen.

Elizabeth was the first British monarch to celebrate her diamond wedding anniversary.

Elizabeth is patron of more than 600 charities and organizations.

Elizabeth has visited Australia 16 times, Canada 22 times, Jamaica six times and New Zealand 10 times.

The Queen is the only person in Britain who can drive without a license or number plate on her state car.
